Macro Trends

Issue.

An F500 pharmaceutical company was having trouble keeping pace with the rapidly evolving digital health space, and wanted to develop the internal capabilities to track such categories as technologies that support and enable clinical trials (virtual and otherwise), connected medical device platforms and manufacturers, digital therapeutics and trends and supporting technologies across population health management and value-based care initiatives.

Solution.

I helped my client identify, structure, resource and establish a new (dedicated) team, with proven processes that I have developed over many years, to identify and monitor new industry trends, applicable technologies and potential partners across a number of categories deemed critically important to the organizations 5- and 10-year strategic objectives.

Results.

Once up and running, the newly-established group was able to quickly identify about half a dozen potential new partners, and subsequently proceeded to enter into multi-year agreements with three of those. In addition, senior management’s “FOMO” on the next big thing was greatly alleviated, particularly with regularly-supplied updates coming from the new team.
